The Closest You Come to Me (Det nærmeste du kommer meg)
21–24 May 2021, Hos Arne, Oslo, Norway
Duo exhibition with HLÍN studio
A duo exhibition bringing together jesmonite sculptures, paintings and a central installation inspired by art-historical references to the moon. A Ø200 cm painting was mounted high in the gallery’s approximately five-metre ceiling, directly above a circular sofa of the same diameter, constructed by Julia Conley. Visitors were invited to lie down and look upwards, creating a physical encounter with the work.
The installation explored intimacy, distance and longing, reflecting the duality of the COVID-19 period and its restrictions on physical proximity.
