For this exhibition, Nes presents a new body of work inspired by a Midsummer ritual, an old Nordic summer solstice tradition she grew up with. Seven oil paintings are based on seven different wildflowers growing in Norway, referencing the practice of picking seven flowers at midsummer and placing them under the pillow to dream of a future spouse. The exhibition also includes a large-scale steel sculpture, developed in advance and produced in Wuhan, and an installation of three large-scale translucent paintings on sailcloth. The exhibition is supported by the Norwegian Embassy in Beijing.
